Dear Ms. Smith

I am writing on behalf of the Council of the Great City Schools, a coalition of the nation’s largest urban public school systems, to give our organization’s formal and enthusiastic support for Tech Corps. In a day and age when technology changes so rapidly, it is critical that our schools, particularly our urban schools, not be left behind. We simply cannot and will not keep pace without the assistance of organizations like yours.

Perhaps what is most important about Tech Corps’ involvement in our cities is not only the technical expertise and assistance your volunteers bring, but the revitalization of schools takes place as a result of increased community involvement. Oftentimes, what is more valuable to a school is not the work a volunteer does, but the new partnership that may be established as a result of that volunteer’s labor. We have seen this happen countless times through projects like NetDay96 which are having a tremendous impact on our schools and school districts.

We give you our support and our thanks for all the work you’re doing to assist schools across the country. While they may be recipients of your labor, it is the schoolchildren who are the real benefactors. Best of luck in your efforts and please feel free to call upon us at any time.

Sincerely,

Michael Casserly
Executive Director
