Sudbury, MA, July 14, 1997 – TECH CORPS, a national non-profit assisting K-12 schools in integrating technologies into education, is pleased to announce that Gateway 2000 has become a Patron of TECH CORPS. As a Patron, Gateway 2000 joins other leading technology and telecommunications companies in their support of this major educational technology initiative.
TECH CORPS brings volunteers with technical expertise into schools across the country to help schools more fully bring technology into their classrooms. Volunteers provide technical assistance and advice, staff training, mentoring, and curriculum assistance through an on-going commitment to their local schools. Currently, 37 states and the District of Columbia have TECH CORPS chapters which bring thousands of volunteers into schools across the country.
