TECH CORPS was created to address this challenge. Building on the Peace Corps paradigm of progress through personal service, CIO publisher Gary Beach founded TECH CORPS in 1995 as a national nonprofit that would challenge Americans to help build the technology infrastructure of our nation’s schools. Today, thanks to thousands of technology professionals who responded to the call, TECH CORPS volunteers are helping put new technologies to effective use in schools, and communities across the nation.

About the US Tech Corps

Tech Corps is a non-profit organization founded in 1995 with the mission of ensuring K-12 students have equal access to Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) programs, skills and resources. The organization provides students with opportunities to participate in technology-focused activities and learning.

The goal of Tech Corps is to inspire young minds to explore technology and use it as a medium to achieve their personal and professional goals. It does this by creating innovative and fun learning experiences for students, helping them to gain new tech skills, fostering creativity, and sparking an interest in technology careers.

Tech Corps offers a range of programs and services to students and schools. These include:

Teaching Programming: They teach programming and computer science concepts through fun activities and projects.

Techie Club: An after-school program designed for elementary and middle school students to engage in interactive, hands-on activities that stimulate their interest in technology.

Techie Camp: A full-day, week-long summer camp where students learn skills such as web design, app development, and 3D printing.

High School Coding Camp: This program is designed for high school students interested in learning about computer programming and potentially pursuing a career in technology.

Student TECH CORPS: A program that provides high school students with a hands-on, project-based learning experience that focuses on the design, construction and maintenance of computer systems and networks.

Educator TECH CORPS: This program provides teachers with the knowledge and resources they need to effectively integrate technology into their classrooms.

e4Tech Program: A comprehensive CS program designed for K-8 educators, where they can learn and teach Computer Science concepts through engaging, unplugged and plugged activities.

The Tech Corps has reached thousands of students and hundreds of schools, and continues to expand its impact through partnerships and collaborations with schools, districts, businesses, and other non-profit organizations.
